Meet the Trainer

Rebecca has spent the last several years involved with
animals in various ways. As a veterinary technician, she
makes it her daily job to help our faithful companions.
When not at work at Animal Care Center or training dogs,
Rebecca spends her time doing rescue.
Rebecca is a foster parent for several local shelters and
rescues. In the past 9 years, Rebecca has fostered over 80
wayward pets including dogs, cats, birds, and even the
occasional fish. Rebecca usually fosters one pet at a time
to ensure that the pet gets the proper training and
rehabilitation that it needs to be able to be adopted to a
new home. Rebecca has traveled as far as Medina Del
Campo, Spain, to help with rescue efforts for the Spanish
Greyhound, called "galgo". She was also a member of a
Nashville based veterinary task force that travelled to
Louisiana to help with the animal rescue efforts after
Hurricane Katrina
Not only is Rebecca involved in animal rescue, she has
also been an active member of K9 search and rescue.
Rebecca was formerly corporal for Metro Nashville K9
Search and Rescue. She was in charge of training her two
dogs for both live person wilderness search and human
remains detection. She was selected to be corporal for her
ability to train her dogs and to train the rest of the team and
their dogs. She has also been a member of Urban Search
and Rescue. USAR is a Nashville based K9 SAR team that
is made up of a group of volunteers dedicated to saving the
lives of others. USAR's mission is to help locate missing
persons buried in rubble.
As you can see, Rebecca spends each day working with
dogs. Not only does she love working with her own dogs,
but Rebecca truly enjoys teaching people how to have a
stronger bond with their dog by utilizing the methods of
positive reinforcement training.
